Reduce Wasteful Spending.
We must be fiscally mindful of how our money is spent in Madison. Reducing unneeded expenses will grow our surplus and those funds can be reallocated to areas of need at the local level without raising taxes.
Ensure Funding of Emergency Services.
Wisconsin is one of only a few states in the nation that places the burden of funding emergency services on the local communities. By ending the wasteful spending on Madison’s pet projects, we can use those tax dollars to provide adequate funding for the critical services that our communities need: Police, Fire, and EMS.
Empower Local Government and Keep Big Government in Check.
The role of the state government should be providing resources to local communities to ensure that critical services are provided. Reallocating funds from wasteful spending in Madison to local governments will empower communities to operate efficiently, and effectively, and to maintain and improve community services and local infrastructure. Removing control from big government in Madison and placing that control into the hands of local officials will ensure that our tax dollars are providing funding for the resources our communities need most.
Increase Wisconsin’s Workforce.
Wisconsin companies are facing a crisis in finding employees to fill open positions. One solution to this problem is to make Wisconsin more appealing to veterans and transitioning service members to relocate to after they complete their service to the nation. Lowering the current 5 year waiting period for veterans who have moved to Wisconsin to be able to utilize some veterans benefits provided by the state would incentivize veterans to relocate to Wisconsin to increase the available workforce. Veterans bring experience and strong work ethic and always prove to be an indispensable resource to Wisconsin Business.
Grow Agriculture Community.
We must invest in the future of our decreasing agriculture community. Bolstering programs such as 4H and FFA along with enticing social communities such as veterans and homesteaders to relocate to Wisconsin by improving tax benefits for family-owned farms to increase the output and diversity of our agricultural community.
Election Reform.
Conservatives across the state of Wisconsin must stand together to demand fair, safe, and honest elections. We can start with ensuring the enforcement of our current laws, and continue by introducing and passing bills that increase the transparency of election procedures, and provide greater oversight of the conduct of election officials.
Protect and Empower Local Small Businesses.
COVID-19 has decimated many small businesses and the current administration did little to protect them over the last few years. Local communities came together in true Wisconsin fashion to support those businesses but it was not enough. Ensuring small businesses have the resources they need to continue to operate should take priority over large corporate bailouts.
